FRESH
Charles Hamilton steals beats:
Black Spade’s “Shinin’”
UPDATED WITH VIDEO EVIDENCE, ORIGINAL POST BELOW
Okay, first off – here is Black Spade’s side of the story for the first time since the original e-mail. Note that everything else in the original post and subsequent comments under my name were my thoughts, opinions and words. So here are his:
Credit due to Made Monarchs for putting the video together.
On the other side of things… after two days of dodging questions and beating around the bush, Charles Hamilton finally came through on his word and uploaded the ProTools session files for his version of the “Shinin’” track. Below is a video the homie Primuts Luta of AvantUrb made showing that Black Spade’s original beat is sitting right there in the very file Charles himself uploaded, titled “08 – Shinin’” as it appeared on the beat CD and all.
So what this means is that Charles Hamilton, one way or another, took Black Spade’s original composition (note its a stereo track and not original source files) and added other elements to it. Now, all in fairness – what most likely happened was Charles was given the Black Spade beat on a CD by a mutual friend or something, and he used the beat thinking it was either that person’s beat and they were cool with it, or he thought it was the original break itself (since Spade did re-create it and sing it to mimic the original).
Not a big deal, right? However – Charles should’ve just said that shit from the jump and this wouldn’t have even been an issue, but he didn’t. He claimed that he did the beat all by himself straight from the original record, that the voice heard on his song was a filter and not Spade’s (note there’s no filtered voice part in those sessions), etc. So now this kid’s credibility is completely shot and I can only hope that people continue to treat him as such from here on out.
This is 2009. We are WELL into the internet age at this point. You CANNOT get away with blatant bullshit like this and not expect to get called out and exposed for it.
So in closing – I hope this a lesson for everyone. True artists – please be careful about sending out your demo beat CD’s, uploading tracks to your MySpace, etc. Watermark your shit, date it, copyright it, whatever – just make sure you don’t get Charles Hamilton’ed. And for all the fraudulent artists out there trying to pull similar jack moves – stop.
Okay… so you guys know me, I usually play it cool on artists that I’m not into and instead, stick to supporting & promoting those that I do feel. But in this case, enough is enough – this Charles Hamilton shit needs to end already. And I’m not even tripping off of his personal life shit like a lotta people do – i.e. wearing pink, trying way to hard to make his fascination with Sonic characters sound deep when its not, his little schoolgirl blog writing style, etc. All of that is whatever to me – I’m talking strictly music and his career. Besides being massively underwhelming and suspiciously overrated as an “artist” – this dude has time and time again shown both a general lack of knowledge in hip-hop, as well as a arrogant disregard and overall lack of respect for it. You should already know how I feel about that wack ass mixtape he did over Dilla beats. And oddly enough, he left a comment replying to that post even though I never said his name in it and what he said just further confirmed that he is a newjack and doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about. Saying that he “anticipate[s] buying a real CD if it should drop” over a year and a half after the CD’s release date… ?!!?? LMnonpinkAO.
But whatever, I said my peace in my reply back to him, stayed cordial and kept it moving. Since then, I’ve been hearing a lot of stories about him being on some overall shady shit – jacking different producers’ beats and saying he did them, showing up unprepared for gigs & trying to use the opening act’s live band for his own set, starting YouTube/blog beefs with more established rappers, etc. But the e-mail that I got this morning from St. Louis producer/MC and Fresh Selects alumni, Black Spade, was the nail in the coffin as far as my tolerance for this dude.
Basically, Charles jacked a beat straight from Black Spade’s MySpace player and rapped over it, released the song on one of his endless barrage of half-assed & disposable mixtapes, and ironically ended up performing the song right in front of Black Spade at SXSW the other week. So Spade approaches him after the show saying that he did that beat but liked what he did with it (his opinion, not mine), asked where he got it from, etc. So the jig is up, right? Nope! Aparently, this fool Charles still tried to act like he made that beat and even went on to say that it was HIM singing on there, when anyone who’s ever heard a Black Spade song can clearly recognize that voice as Spade’s.
So with Charles refusing to admit that he took the beat from Black Spade, I’ve decided to post both of them here for you to decide for yourself. Below is Black Spade’s demo beat and then Charles’ song – both of which are coincidentally called “Shinin’.” Besides the different mix, you’ll notice that Charles’ song also has an intro before the beat drops – that’s something that Spade only included on the track when he uploaded it to MySpace, which is how he knows thats where Charles got it from. I’ve included the full e-mail I received from Black Spade after the jump to further explain the story and to seperate his thoughts on Charles from my own.
Black Spade aka Stoney Rock “Shinin’ (rough mix)”
Charles Hamilton “Shinin’”
Now I know beat jacking is nothing new – its probably as old hip-hop itself. But that doesn’t make that shit okay – especially if the thief in question can’t even own up to it when they’re not only caught in their lie, but even given props for the song. And this instance aside, the only reason this kid’s manufactured buzz has worked for him so far is because not enough people have been calling him out on his bullshit from the beginning. Thankfully, more people have been speaking out lately, namely Rhymefest, Xplosive World, and even former supporter, Karen Civil (although she quickly removed her post from her blog the same day it went up).
And I know this isn’t the only story of Charles pulling this type of shit with someone else’s beat – so if you know of a similar situation or just want to add your two cents on the issue, leave a comment and lemme know.

“Yo!
So this is the beat Charles Hamilton CLAIMS he created. In short, when I was in Austin to perform and check out SxSW, I caught his set. He performed one of his tracks, ‘Shinin,’ which I thought was dope. However, come to find out the instrumental that he used for that track is a beat I produced a while back. After he was done performing, I let him know that I produced the beat and asked him where he got it from. In the back of my mind I know that the only place he really could have gotten it from was off my MySpace page. When I told him I produced the track and liked his lyrics, he still continued to say that HE produced the track with some dude….FALSE. He said he cleared the sample and that he is the one singing ‘Shinin’ in the background and also that his homeboy was playing the keys on the track.
Now mind you, the background ‘Shinin’ vocals that he claims he laid were not laid in the studio at all. I know this because I sampled them by singing directly into the MPC.
Basically, the Frankie Beverly & Maze sample at the beginning is from when I put the beat up on MySpace. The whole point of putting that part in the track was to show that I was about to produce, from that part, my own version of the sample. So, if you don’t hear the Frankie Beverly & Maze sample in the MP3 I am sending you, that is why.
Peace,
Black Spade aka Stoney Rock”

I think my “schoolgirl” form of blogging is pretty on point, don’t you? 2
Black Spade’s VOICE is all over “your” beat… how do you explain that??
And what were your questions about how Spade made the beat? 3
charlesthehamilton@gmail.com
Let’s fix this once and for all. 4
I Don’t Blame Charles For Taking It So Seriously It’s Music It Kan Tarnish A Reputation… 5
-Majorz 6
i’m not gonna be on some typical shock blogger shit, so i’ll leave out the details
overall – it was on some real man-to-man shit, no beef
he still swears that beat is all him, and i’m still skeptical about that – we agreed to disagree
but on a personal level – we’re cool, he handled the situation well
i’m gonna try and get him in touch with Spade so they can really sort it out amongst themselves 12
so you guys can further make up your own minds and hear what was in the original song, and more importantly, what wasnt:
Frankie Beverly & Maze “Golden Time Of Day”
http://www.imeem.com/monalisa07/music/9igPHiLY/frankie-beverly-maze-golden-time-of-day/ 16
Been studying beats for years and years.
That’s the same fuckin beat on both songs, there is no difference, how do you explain that?
you can’t
i have never heard two producers make an identical beat, at the VERY LEAST, THE DRUMS WOULD HAVE DIFFERENT TEXTURES OR SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT PATTERNS OR SOME SORT OF VARIATION.
They don’t.
The drums are identical on both fuckin beat, from the textures, to the frequencies, to the patterns.
And that isn’t even talking about the dudes vocal tone who is singing the hook.
Strange indeed. 17
Your “Pro Tools Sessions” are probably just Spade’s beat with your vocals over them and some sort of EQ that gives a slightly different air to each recording.
But the DRUMS, IDENTIAL. The HUMAN VOICE, Identical.
Fail. 18
They made that shit Identically, BUT THEY WERE TRYING TOO.
Even if Charles and his boy were top notch producers, capabale of remaking Alchemist beats perfectly, they would have to INTEND ON RECREATING THE BEAT, to make it THIS IDENTICAL.
Yugh, 19
come on doggie — did you sample spades’ beat and chop that joint up? i mean, like everyone is saying, spade’s voice is on it.
i mean as a producer myself, even if you didnt use the exact beat — it’s hard to believe that you didnt steal those chops and all.
i listened to the original song, and there is a lot of other parts that easily could’ve been chopped up. but to take the exact chop, flip it the same way, and arrange the drums the same, is hard to believe that NOTHING was “borrowed” from spade.
no matter what – all signs point to a jackmove. 20
The respectable thing to do is to admit that you stole the beat. A real man would have said, i was searching the new, i heard this beat, that jawns was fiyah. I recorded it off his page and laid some vocals on top. Added a little EQ and voila! Then you could salvage the situation by giving credit where credit is due, and maybe working something out.
The bitch thing to do is to swear you made the beat with your unnamed boy, and you have the pro tools session to match.
End of the story this is a sad day for anyone on here that was a Charles Hamilton fan. Big ups to Black Spade for making shit so hot that niggas have to steal it rather than making some hot shit themshelves. 26
It’s a number of folks that get props out here these days that are obvious jackers, but no one will say anything. Oh well, the truth will always come to light.
Haha, FS is like the indie TMZ. 27
“indie TMZ”??
can i at least be the underground The Smoking Gun?! LOL!!
this isn’t some gossip & crotch shot shit, ya know? haha 32
i hear you, man
its good to see everyone else has Black Spade’s back too
but its also a lil disheartening to some people being so much quicker to comment on some drama/hate shit,
than they would about supporting all the other shit i post
but thats human nature, i guess 33
Dude clearly made a song over Spade’s beat.
Now it’s time for him to fess up AND/OR get beat up in retatliation. I think that would be AWESOME for hiphop and a major blow to these soft @ss ‘redemption rap’ newbies.
Also, I haven’t heard any of Charles’ records, but I suppose we should all Ghostface his stuff and just rap all over his voice and tracks like fugget!
Who’s coming with me?! 34
Spade has yet another fan!
P.S.
I have EVERY REASON to be on this site! 35
STL STAND UP. 37
This is wack, yo… 39
even if you made the beat first then your in bigger violation becuz your clearly stealing the mans vocals..thats not you singing in the background dumb ass nigga,my nigga van is right fuck all that phone action everytime i read this i get more pissed off at that shit, nigga worry bout rhymefest call him up get him off of you, don’t call nobody over here realtalk.. 41
Again, show me a proven case of two producers making an identical beat “on accident”
you just made a claim that I do not believe is true at all, I have NEVER heard two people make the same beat “on accident”
Like I said, the one thing you NEVER hear when two producers use the same samples is the SAME DRUMS, SAME DRUM PATTERNS, SAME DRUM LAYERING, SAME DRUM TEXTURES, ETC…
Any producer worth his salt knows what the deal is with chopping up Drums, they always come out different, no two drums sound alike when you chop them up.
So yeah “It Happens, Any Producer Should Know THat”
Ummm… IT DOESNT HAPPEN, Any Producer should know THAT 42
I don’t even know anything about anything but beats and rap music, that is my life passion and its something I have been immersed in forever.
Trust. 43
FOR REAL!
Money is one thing, all Producers want money.
But the one thing all producers NEED, and will FIGHT FOR, is CREDIT.
No producer can handle making a beat and being uncredited for it when somebody puts it out there in a major way.
SPEAKING OF DILLA, Thats what Janet Jackson, and 2pac did to HIM! (well not Pac but his Producers).
When you make a dope beat, all you want really is for as many people as possible to hear it. So the worst thing is for EVERYBODY to hear it, but for NOBODY to know it was you who made it.
Wack. 44
Thanks for that
And let’s not forget Soopafly jacking Dilla’s “Get Dis Money” beat and playin over it for that wack ass LeToya song on the Wash soundtrack 46
the reactions are not because of “beef” or “drama”
Charles essentially is asserting that we were all “BORN YESTERDAY”
When people lie to people because they thnk they are too stupid to know any better, its insulting.
That’s why I’m here, I felt insulted as a reader of his comment that he would think I could not seee through his obvious bullshit. 47
I obviously feel strongly about it too
I’m just saying im EQUALLY as passionate about shit i DO like too
But I definitely wasn’t talking about you with that one, Bob
Like I said above, you’re making a lotta sense in here 48
“As far as me “jacking” someone’s beat, I have the ProTools/Fruity Loops file to prove I made the beat. Spoke to the “blogger” yesterday, and it’s the last time I address any situation with a blogger. If you don’t like me, cool. Don’t talk about me. There’s nothing to “pull my skirt up” about, and the old me woulda snapped yesterday. Nah. It’s quiet.
I am loyal to such a small number of people that they don’t even look at it as me being loyal to them. And yes, n1ggas got cut off, right in front of they faces. I’m doing me. On some “call me wack” type sh1t. New fans, welcome. Plenty of sh1t to dive into on this blog. Old fans know what it is, are either hyped right now or semi-concerned. Don’t be, y’all. Y’all know I’m the most publicly moody musician ever.
I’m not looking for a fight, beef, or any kind of altercation. I’m ignoring the attention sluts and lowering my eyelids (with red pupils) at the older heads who screwed things up being greedy. I think the fans that hate the mainstream take their hatred out on me, because I’m “a part” of the mainstream. I respect it, but when the change that everyone wants, comes, I don’t want any out-of-the-blue “supporters” talkin about they were always there. I’m accepting that people do come into your life for a season/reason/whatever, but sometimes, people just either need to hurry the f*ck up or get the f*ck out.
Word.
On some other sh1t, will all the members of TheSonicSquad holla at me? Not on some bumrush sh1t, but y’all already know. N1ggas is really blowin mine right now.
Blowin mine = getting on my nerves (derives from the phrase “blowing my high”, and given a disrespectful context to bring the point home)
Whatever. Isn’t today Sunday? Oh okay…

In a court of law Spade, all you need to do is line both instrumental tracks up and examine the wavelengths. I’m almost certain they’d be identical since clearly, to the ear, they are the same tracks.

It’s not all bad 59
no matter what charles says .. it doesnt add up !!!
he need to show some respect! and apologise and then move forward…….
no self respecting beatmaker can ctreate an excuse for the same vocals being on both tracks.. charles you been made!!!.. 61
CH is playing hisself talking about FL Studio sessions and shit. Jus admit that your a beat jaker! 62
i honestly wish i could slap the shit out of charles hamilton… he was cool for like the first few seconds of his existence. ever since the deal with interscope he became extremely annoying… and this puts the nail in the coffin. just give up sonic. your 15 minutes are up.
on a side note… that frankie beverly sample is cuh-razy. 68

Charlie, if you are reading this, which I know you will be –once and for all… your fans, the public, and people in the industry should all have the right to know THE TRUTH.
I dont give a hot fuck if “god sees all”, hiding behind a statement. like thats suppose to satisfy us and leave this alone.
I’ll put this clear as day.
Answer these 3 questions:
1. HOW did you make the beat if Spade’s voice is all over it?
2. Where is the tracked out protools files? Show us.
3. Explain why your beat has the same drum patterns, chops, and arrangement as Black Spade’s
We’ve been asking these same questions in different ways and here they are, plain as day. I made it easy for you. Now don’t try to politick your away around these questions with ‘god knows’ and shit.
Man up and answer. 73
he’s obviously not a “genius” if the guy just stole someone else’s beat.
i need for you to light a candle in your C. hamilton shrine for him — cause he’s done.
if you think about it, he’s basically gotten off by jacking other peoples shit (no homo) and rapping over it.
dilla would be ashamed of this dumb herb. 74

How can Charles even have the audacity to deny it? He’s pulling a Rawse. Shake my head at this nigga.
P.S. Black Spade > Charles Hamilton. All day, everyday. 77
Peace to the entire STL massive over here. 78
*smh* 79
biter will get bitten! 80
especially when it can easily be proven that even if he made it in protools that it’s the SAME. EXACT. BEAT as black spade’s.
this is some wild shit. 81
Much props for your initial aproach with the whole situation. 83
See, Chuck, you’re a little too young to remember this, but even before the Officer Ricky thing, we had another “rap” (and I use that term loosely) artist pull the same crap. No more will I call you Chuck. From henceforth, your name shall be Vanilla Ice.
See, Rob pulled that SAME shit in 1990. “See, Queen’s went ‘Dun dun dun da-da dun dun. Dun dun dun da-da dun dun. MINES went ‘Dun dun dun da-da dun dun DA dun dun dun da-da dun dun.’ It’s two completely different songs!”
And now, you think it’s cool to be Rob Van Winkle. Black Spade OBVIOUSLY did this beat, and I’m not even going into vocals, because that just… *sigh*
Vanilla, you lost. Man up, take the L, maybe Spade will give you a throwaway beat or two. 86
look, it don’t take an incident of bitin to know Hamilton is wack. 87
what it comes down to is that mister hamilton “sampled” spade… that’s what those young cats do. perhaps this so-called genius doesn’t even get the difference between beatjacking and sampling. he added some percussive elements and there you go… he “made” that beat… :D 88
Who were the dudes that “produced” that track for Jennifer Lopez, the one that went Top 40 over a CLASSIC BEATNUTS BEAT?
That’s the company Charles Hamilton is in. R and B singers who go Top 40 over Mobb Deep “Quiet Storm”.
And George Bush for treating as all like we are stupid.

Oh and to answer my J-Lo question…
THE TRACKMASTERS
What is SO wack about the J-Lo Beatnuts Scandal, is that on Wikipedia they claim that it was not a jack at all, see for yourself…
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jenny_from_the_Block
this is what happens if we don’t all fight biters like The Trackmasters/J-Lo and Charles Hamilton tooth and nail.
Let’s change history people. 96
I for one believe that this was a fucked up move on behalf of the Trackmasters, who stole music from The Beatnuts and had J-Lo sing over it.
See for yourself, what do you think?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2JgUvd4l30
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4UtSvUGJyc
The fact is J-Lo got a way with it because her audience knows nothing of The Beatnuts work. 97
like we cant focus on multiple things at once. FOH simple muhfucka.
incredible how youve noticed how large the world is and its complex and surreal problems… why dont you set an example for us and chain yourself to a tree. then we’ll have some other shit to talk about.

“Once and for all…
Shouts to Barbara from St. Louis. Spoke to her on the phone, said my side of the story. Apparently everyone out there is under the impression I stole the beat from homie…
Well…
The n1gga didn’t even know what KEY the song was in.
NOR did he know the original sample.
And I spoke to him LIVE, on the phone. Had MORE THAN ONE PERSON hear his version of the track.
HERE ARE THE FACTS:
My song, “Shinin” was recorded November 18th 2006. At the end of the song I say, “Yung Nate. Nigga your birthday coming up. You ain’t that young.”
Nate’s birthday was November 23rd.
He graduated FDA in 2006. And still came back to the studio. Just like me.
But Yung Nate NOR “Black Spade” is Charles Hamilton.
“Black Spade” said he put his version of the song on MySpace in 2007.
I just showed y’all dates, and I have witnesses.
ON TOP of having beat files.
E-Rich, on some G sh1t, I probably should post the Fruity Loops file. And the ProTools session. And let the world see how “G” I am. But that’s giving this no name n1gga WAY too much attention.
And even realer than that, if I jacked your beat, and PERFORMED IT IN FRONT OF YOU, I should be blogging about my bruises, right?
F*ck outta here.
I spoke to “Kenny Fresh” yesterday on the phone, and considering he “exposed” me, he sure as hell was humble. No, didn’t video the convo, but whatever. Didn’t need to. Because I don’t have a need to lie.
The original sample, not in its entirety.
Get off my d1ck.
Hol up.
Get off my dick.
I don’t call fans “fans” no more. I already told y’all what I call y’all (track 3 on “It’s Charles Hamilton”). I’m already up here, looking at the stars. Y’all down there, looking at the stars. So we’re both (you and me, dear reader) starchasers. Except/accept (that) I do it on a different level.
We’re all the same, I’m just Charles Hamilton.
End of entry.
Next blog entry should be some positivity.
And as far as the EP with Asher, he’s on the move right now working his album, I’m slowly and meticulously calculating my next set of moves.
And that’s saying WAY too little to even give you guys a hint as to what’s next.
Big news about Demevolist coming soon…

Neither.

You still haven’t cleared up anything about the beat, no one asked you about dates.
For everyone else, here’s the response I posted to Charles’ last blog on his blog:
That being your final statement it doesn’t clear up much of anything.
Okay, here is a simple point-by-point write-out of why I believe you took Black Spade’s beat, and also what you can do to me prove wrong.
1. Black Spade made his beat using the K2600 synth made by Kurtzwiel. He told you this on the phone and you hung up. Please show how you got K2600 sounds out of Fruity Loops and a Motif.
2. Black Spade’s VOICE is in your song. You said its a filter – please show you using said filter to make the loop sound that way, or how you “sang it yourself”
4. Explain this picture http://twitpic.com/2l46n showing the two songs side by side with identical wave patterns, tempos, etc. – yours is just fuller/louder, mostly because of the vocals.
And if what you’re saying IS true… whats your theory about how all this came about then?
- Black Spade heard your beat at SXSW and then decided to recreate it to PERFECTION and claim it was up on MySpace in 2007 just to get some CREDIT and not even ask for $$$??
- Or you really think this is just a coincidence that you guys made IDENTICAL beats that not only looped the same part of the song but also re-played the same parts with the same sounds and used the same drum sounds THAT WEREN’T IN THE ORIGINAL?
Cmon – stop dodging the topic at hand and answer those questions and this is all over.
And post the files already, you keep saying you will but have yet to show and prove.
March 30, 2009 2:30 AM 108
so hamilton’s voice is the one over the sample… ?
cause there is that vocal layer that is filtered over the original sample. its somebody’s fuckin voice. he’s still dodging that.
also, who give a fuck what key it’s in. lmao. they’re fuckin chops brosiff. if spade put that shit up 2 years ago, how is one supposed to remember that type of shit.
hamilton = scamilton
show the fucking beat files, b. hes hiding behind another statement — talking about how he’s bigger than this problem and doesnt have to face some “blogger”.
actions speak louder than words. so far — all he’s got are words. no proof. just talk.

CH:
“I saw my brother Manic today (Manic the Hedgehog… told you this sh1t is real). You know what he told me?
“Superstardom is made so they can tear you down. You not a superstar n1gga. You Super Charles.”
Dude. I’m not even on superstar status (publicly at least) and I got cats talkin about I stole they work. I guess I’m tight cuz it’s something off The Pink Lavalamp, and I refuse to let a n1gga tell me ANYTHING about that project. Especially since I almost didn’t make it through recording it. ESPECIALLY since I didn’t intend on it being an album. Because I didn’t think I’d make it from one day to the next. So I guess yeah, that’s a sensitive spot.
But I ain’t no p*ssy, and I will never be.
No matter how much I’m pestered about it, I look at the “controversy” around “Shinin” as a blessing in disguise. Now, I don’t look at it as a suicide letter, but as someone’s attempt to demean what the song means to me. Which is great, because I get really sad when I hear it.
I don’t even care anymore. For real. I’m not defending myself. You either know or you don’t. And if you know, you wouldn’t bring no dumb shit to me.
I know my sister (Sonia) was praying for me today. Sh1t did get kinda thick in the midst of things, but f*ck it. I’m good, sis.
Tomorrow, some bigger site is probably gonna “report” the “jacking”, but whatever. At this point, people should know to come to my blog to hear what I have to say. So, I’m gonna keep talking about what I want to talk about on my blog.
Like so…”
ME:
“There’s nothing easier to prove then the truth.
I even SHOWED YOU HOW to prove us all wrong in my comment to the last post.
Completely ignoring all of that is nothing less than a confession of guilt
And its already been re-posted: RapRadar.com, VIMBY, Soul Assassins, HypeTrak, The Smoking Section, etc.
This isn’t something thats just gonna get swept under the rug if you just stop addressing it” 114
I’m bout tired of talking about this, action people, action.
STL lets get at it.
-Majorz 115
I mean if you going to steal a beat… at least change that shit up to make it sound different, besides putting some wack ass lyrics on it and calling it yours.
Also, why deny that shit? Just say you stole the beat. If it was me.. “Yeah I got it from your myspace, I thought it was dope so I borrowed it”. I already know at this point I’m exposed so why deny it.. fucc’it.
You get more respect keeping it real rather than lie just to later be exposed. Then you look twice as wrong.
I’ll take “Keeping it real” for $500 Alex 123

http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=20311907&albumID=582887&imageID=6862137
Since that Mixtape came out after The Pink Lavalamp charles had to have made Shinin back in 06. 130
FUCK YEAH! 131
(FRESH edit: LOL @ this dude tryna post a reply as Charles when he already made a reply on the same IP address under #1 STUNNA. nice try, dummy) 132
Charles Hamilton= Lupe+ kanye with a twist of Jay Z
In the end though he’s got his own style and only time will prove me right.
1 luv Charles! 133
producer jacked the beat from
Freeway – baby don’t do it
song from “Free At Last” LP
..nah,
this is called : THE SAMPLE !! 134
http://www.copyright.gov/
ATTN all you future and present producers of beats… COPYRIGHT YOUR SHIT and when someone jacks it CASH THE FUCK IN IN COURT.
Stop your whinin… all of ya. Sue the guy and get paid. What so complicated? 136
For those CH fans just joining us – hello.
Welcome to what a real music blog looks like. :)
Now lets see if I can address you all in one fall swoop….
126. Britt Britt:
Unfortunately, a lack of talent doesn’t mean an artist won’t be successful – especially in this new age of reckless internet hype being given away waaay too easily without having to earn it.
This is what this is all about in my eyes.
129. ja.:
Just because YOU havent heard of Black Spade don’t assume that no one has
I’ve personally been checking for dude since the fall of 2005 and have been posting his music on my blog since I first started it
And as 100+ other comments before me have shown, I’m not alone in thinking he’s dope.
But yo… are you serious… Charles really has 13 mixtapes out from one year????
I’m sorry thats beyond ridiculous
I wouldn’t wanna hear more than 4 or 5 mixtapes in a year TOPS from my all time favorite artists.. and even THATs pushing it
Thats one of my problems with Charles – his oversaturation of the blog scene is setting a horrible standard
In my opinion, releasing THAT much music just makes it all disposable – I mean, who can really listen to 13 mixtapes in one year from one artist? Let alone give some of those repeated listens
Meanwhile, Black Spade released a great, concise ALBUM in 2008 called To Serve With Love
Yes, an ALBUM not a mixtape – with all original beats that he did himself
That I cam still bump to this day and enjoy it like it just came out
I rather have 1 great album then 13 mediocre mixtapes from any artist any day
All comparisons aside and back & forth aside, you should check it out – you might even like it
130. KickRocksBruh
I’m confused as to what you think you’re proving with that one
For one – a mixtape containing ONE song from the same album as “Shinin” doesnt mean the whole rest of the album was already done at that point
Secondly, the COVER being posted has no correlation to that record being done either – especially when CH is the type of artist to list 10+ mixtapes he has coming out in the rest of the year, as he did today, I’m sure he pre-makes some album covers
And even if all that DOES prove “Shinin” was made in March – so what??
No one in here is talking about dates, all Black Spade said was he put that beat up in 2007 (so Jan, Feb and March 1st thru 21st and all open if u believe ur own logic)
I could give a shit less about the date the track was made, I’m talking hard evidence as far as sounds (i.e. Black Spade’s VOICE which Charles has yet to address)
133. styldynamite
ok cool… nothing really to argue with there.
to each their own
134. R:
uh… no. this is not that case at all.
i take it you didn’t either
A. read the whole post (understandable, it was long as hell)
B. listen past the intro to Charles’ song when the beat actually drops
this isn’t about samples, fam
i highly doubt these 2 were the only one to sample that Maze song… LOL 140
I’m no expert on producing/beat making, none of that shit, but I do think they sound very similar. Not calling anyone a liar or fraud, just my thoughts…
Peace 141
you went to SXSW and brought something unreal to what people try to escape???
tyler durden urself and shoot Urself in the mouth 144
HAHAHAA HE SAID IT HIMSELF. YO BLACK SPADE SHOULD HAVE KNOCKED THAT KIDS TEETH OUT. 148
you can supress the truth, bury it and try to keep it from coming out but you can’t deny the facts …besides that you should remain as peaceful as possible becuz the entire world knows your not brollic, matter of fact in the deepest corners of your heart you know your not hardbody (pause),thats the part that makes me sick about all of this the blatant denial of the obvious truth’s, and your wack ass attempts to type tough..
on some real shit fuck all this typing -tell your slut ass girlfriend to answer the phone next time my nigga calls.. 151
CH posted that on his blog 152
Not hating just being real, that is all i got to say 154
if it’s yours then show it… show it on youtube or whatever…
L 156
My point of view im dissapointed I seriously would’ve have thought that he would have posted the session up by now, a youtube, or a couple of wav files or something. I would’nt call my self a fan but I am(maybe was) a supporter of CH I did’nt get all his mixtapes but he did shoot me at track without Vlad drops when I needed it. Which is rare so he’s not a completely arrogant bastard. Seriously for a new DJ like me thats rare for me to get from a artist. I was happy to see him on the cover of XXL a while back with Blu and B.O.B. and Asher Roth to me it was like ok maybe there is hope for the new generation.(sigh) Hell Im young (24) and that shit is no excuse to be ya own man, handle ya own, and show and prove which is what I do EVERY time I touch a turntable.
I actually remember hearing Spade’s version of Shinin’ so when I heard iton the pink lavalampa year later I didn’t think nothing of it. I like shinin’ by CH it was on repeat for a week last year.
So to find the beat is more than likely stolen is like damn… you fuck up you…Rhymefest murked you now this shit its hard trying to support somebody who keeps shooting themselves in the foot. I the type of person if you make a good record im gonna check ya out whether you are gay, like mario, sonic, or hate black people or pussy. A good record is a good record.period.
I can’t take up for someone I personally don’t know but what I can say I he is at the point of his career where he is like fuck the underground/fuck the fans and this is from the outside looking in…
Fuck it if you don’t care about ya self should anyone else…
With that said I need to holla at you K. Fresh I got some artists you may dig.
thats all… 158
true story 159
Any chance of upholding any integrity and respect in the music community is slowing slipping away, Chuck. Save yourself, homie. 160
The funniest thing is that he STILL hasnt provided the proof he speaks of (i.e. FL sessions, Pro tools etc..) 165

There are certain codes that need to be followed, and that shit crosses the threshold of biting.
It’s too bad this kid Charles Hamilton isn’t nice, otherwise people could just plaster their name on “Brooklyn Girls.” That shit sucks, though.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! 174

1.)Stop makin wack music and makin wack moves
2.) STOP with the Sonic. Your killing everything that SEGA and Sonic Team has done to make him such a great character. You should have chose Princess Peach so we’d have a better idea.
3.) Stop wearing pink you lil infant, right now. Turn that off… the hells wrong with you boy. Go upstairs and go to bed. 177
Snuffitization.
Builds character.
Shrinks fat heads.
Keep it movin 180
Apologies for the lack of updates the last couple of hours – I’ve been sleeping… literally. Forgive me…? LOL!
Yes, Charles finally came through on his word and posted the ProTools session
So this is all about to be over – we’ll be ending it within the next hour or so
Stay tuned. 181
ANYWAY, he proved himself:
http://www.ddotomen.com/?p=1324 183
you can easily fake those dates… still downloading the zip. we’ll see. 186
after all this I hope it is exactly what its supposed to be, and not no beat then vocals shit…
now what was so hard about that, could have saved alot of time…
your still wack tho, and this only proves that you bit the beat.. 190
-DJ Premier, Moment Of Truth”
thought that was relevant and worth the copy n paste from above… 191
we got him – its all about to be over.
just waiting on the videos to be edited & uploaded.
patience.
and all the posts about time modification are dead on
why you think he stalled so long to release them?
and keep in mind that in reply #2 in these comments CH said himself that the song was recorded in 2007 192
to everyone saying that this isn’t worth talking about and those that don’t like the track or spade’s music…it’s bigger than that. principle. it’s about respect… about not letting people demean you by lying to your face and giving credit for hard work where due. can’t let people get away with tasteless shit like that. this is SO NOT petty.
egos need to be deflated. people need to know they can’t pull off bullshit.
along a similar vein…ask about kanye stealing MGMT’s music video concept and unfortunately getting away with it because of his stature. too many grimy ass folks taking advantage and on some uppity ass God-complex shit where they feel like they can do whatever they want. the people need to speak and make change where we can, homies. 196
that’s some childs play.
he has the PT file, where’s the FL file? that’s what he used to make the beat right? i mean, id like to see how he achieved the SAME vocal layer as black spade did. that is what is in question here. i’ll let the identical chops and drums slide — but cot damn, what about that muhfuckas voice?
this shit dont add up. and lolz @ all his fans who don’t know shit about production cockriding. all your replies are irrelevant. go listen to his 13 “classic” mixtapes. lol n00bs. 197
Both of them are sweeter on the mic than Sonic. (pause?) 201
Hey B-Money! Aren’t you the guy who ripped off a Madlib beat and sold it to Jay-Z?!
Nice beat, fam! 205
….and you’re done. 206

Tuck your tail between your legs and go back to nowhere. 208
how do you think the people of the songs you sample feel? now he handled his response of this situation horribly wrong but
CH’s song>spade’s song
it’s just unfortunate it came to this 210
Jokes and jokes and jokes and jokes.
Spaghetti… spaghetti… spaghetti… 211
..oh, you were talking about SAMPLING, not beatjacking, my bad… 212
Just a real dude that wants to clear everything up.
Also, I see you Spade with the 14kt and Buff1 shout outs!!!!! HAHA! 214
Dude is a clown to even think he could get away wit some shit like this..
*Fuck outta here! (as you(CH)keep saying)*
What a LAme, I knew you were a fraud! When all these cats were hoping on the band wagon, I knew you were just a fookin wanker! 215
LMAO..
Thats the new phrase from now on… 217
its not sampling. its sampling but swearing you didn’t sample. imagine Kanye telling Curtis Mayfield he played Touch the Sky himself. THAT’s what we’re talking about here. 218
Detroit/Midwestern folks don’t play when it comes to knowing what is theirs especially when work gets involved.
BP – I salute you love!

(wefancy) 219
to be honest no one really knows who is 100% right, we’re going by our ears
either way charles hamilton has serious talent (pink lavalamp fully shows that) it’s unfortunate that this situation has come to this, especially with all the petty shots & attacks taken at him on this “blog” 222
OMG
CHARLES GAYMILTON HAS BEEN OFFICIALLY PWND UP AND DOWN.
PLEASE LEAVE HIP HOP CH.
NOW GIVE SPADE HIS RESPECT HE DESERVES AND SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN IN THE FIRST PLACE! YOU METRO(PROBABLY HOMO) SEXUAL LOOKIN ASS MUH FUCKA!
FUCK OUTTA HEAAAA!
*HIGH FIVE* KENNY FRESH,BLACK SPADE AND EVERYONE ELSE THAT KNEW THE REAL DEAL. 225
but anyway. I myself am not a CH hater. I actually just found out about him like a week and a half ago. I like a couple of his tracks, but I think he’s overrated. that doesn’t equal hate.
it’s very likely that he got the beat from somebody without knowing who it was. the problem is about claiming authorship of somebody else’s work. He could have set it right a LONG time ago, but he went down a path that tarnished his credibility. 226
CH could have simply said “track produced by Black Spade” and that would have been the end of the case…..but….he didnt…..
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOO 227
OH MY DAMN!!! THAT VIDEO WAS GREAT!!!!!!! 228
Hey CH fans, where the fuck are yall now?
SONNED. 229
http://www.twitter.com/phontigallo
PWNED!! ROFLMAO 230
Charles snitched on himself. “Genius”.
Shouts to Black Spade. 232
The video settled everything.
Spade, keep making that original music!
Kenny, nice blog. I will continue to visit.
Charles, man up. 234
Hey uh…you guys seen CH anywhere?
*tumble weed blows by*
Hmm..oh well.. 235
seriously i have to shake my head to the responses on here
and shine (no pun intended) under these kinds of circumstances really isn’t good. just ask that wordsmith cat who claimed nas stole his track. 236
I’m tired of dumb shit. Black Spade, we got u sir. 239
Peace,
D 240
charles however talented you think he is is also a talented liar! 242
On some G Shit? really? G’s email their phone numbers out?
Then pops off with, “And even realer than that, if I jacked your beat, and PERFORMED IT IN FRONT OF YOU, I should be blogging about my bruises, right?”
The dude is talkin cocky with all this beatdown G shit. He was defensive to begin with, and dug himself a deep hole.
“~~Charles Hamilton~~
***beep*** “
LOL what a lame. Clown ass nappy headed pink wearing dweeb. 244
Your fuckin fired Charles! 245
Isn’t the “Spade” version just him re-singing an old song?
Isn’t it possible CH got a copy of Spade’s beat, but since Spade’s beat is him re-producing another song CH thought it was the original?
Hence why he linked to the original sample.. which sounds a lot like what Spade recorded…
I’m not a CH fan by the way.. just reading this thinking people are freaking out over a guy sampling a beat/hook that was allready a “copy” of another sample:
http://www.imeem.com/monalisa07/music/9igPHiLY/frankie-beverly-maze-golden-time-of-day/
Fast forward to about 4:40 and you’ll hear the original “Shining” singing stuff….
So again.. don’t get it.. VERY easily CH could have received Spade’s version and mistook him basically “American Idol”-ing the original for the original itself. 246
NOW I’m not advocating stealing beats & CALLING THEN UR OWN or no shit like that BUT, IF U KNOW HOW TO ENGINEER & USE PRO TOOLS LIKE MOI, -> All “Dumb-Ass-Track-Stealing-Chucky Hamhock Bwoy” Had To Do Was Go In & “RE-NAME” Black Spades Track THAT HE STR8 JACKED BEFORE HE POSTED THE PRO TOOLS SESSION “FOR DA WORLD” To SEE!!!
Samuel Jackson: “Hey Lil Chuckie Bwoy, U Know U Done Fucked Up Right?”
Chuckie Hamhock: (stammer stammer stammer)
Samuel Jackson: “U Know U Fucked Up!”
(SMGDPurpleChromeH)-> (LMAO)-> BUT WhtEvr, He Fuhq’d UUUUPPPPPPPP!!!! LMAO AGAIN & AGAIN & AGAIN & AGAIN & AGAIN & AGAIN & AGAIN & AGAIN & AGAIN & AGAIN & AGAIN. & AGAIN! LOL & ROTF!
I’m Out…
*Bronx, NY’s Underground Ghost Producer/Singer/Songwriter/Pro-Tools Engineer “Purple Chrome” @ iTunes, Amazon, etc. saying u shoulda gave credit & -> respect ur elders BWOY!!! 247
It’s dope to see REAL motherfuckers stand the fuck up, and take it as far as it needed to go in order for some fucking justice. Even folk who commented and knew really what the fuck was up.
Regardless if you like the song or not –
Black Spade is a talented artist and SHOULD be credited for the WORK HE DID. I didn’t comment at all because everyone else basically did it for me. I just wanted to ask one thing..
Where are all the CH fans at?… Or better yet – Mr. Sonic himself?
*crickets*
Thought so..
So the score is –
Hip Hop = 1
Charles Hamilton = 0, w/ 1 technical foul.
Next one is an ejection. 248
thats more or less what i already said in the video update text.
at this point its no longer about who made what – its non-debatable that Black Spade made the original beat and Charles got it one way or another, knowingly or unknowingly, and added to it for his own track.
the issue at hand now is all the lies & bullshit Charles has said in response to this whole issue
clearly he either got the beat from somewhere or someone else and DID NOT get it straight from the original record as he has claimed
so basically, if he didn’t steal the beat – then his ghostproducer (who he doesnt wanna admit he has) did. 249
its dead obvious. he didn’t get this far ignoring such blatant details like that.
that would be such a lame excuse. 250
Geek down, homie.
Charles put up proof?
And what did I put up? BETTER proof. Lol
and Black Spade raps, sings, produces and plays instruments too
PLUS he credits other when they contribute to a track – whether it be co-producers, guest musicians, background singers, etc. – its all in the liner notes
what a concept, right?? 252
Either way, what he “Stole” was just a re-production of an existing song; a few seconds of a loop.
It’s jack-assery but IMO none of these types of “beats” take all that much talent.. they are all borrowing/stealing heavily from sampled works in the first place.
So he stole a sample of a sample.. meh… his music still bores me so I care no more or less ;) 253
justin the facts are right there. now all you’re doing is namecalling. the proof is in front of you. either you accept it or ignore it, facts are facts.
your idol got ethered. youre still here trying to rep this crooked muhfucka.
salty, bitch-prick. you sour cause you just butt hurt (no homo). 256
Phonte makes a good point :-) 261
its not about the sample or anything to that nature…
its about respect and recognition that needs to be givin to Spade FROM CH and he keeps denying the fact that he DIDNT make the beat. 262
Even more sad is that Spade got hella beats and you cats could have struck a nice relationship… tough talk gets you nowhere dude. How you gonna ’shine’ with all that egg on your face?? 263
Hip Hop is not for you. Hating on sampling? Really? Calling it stealing? The Fuck?
You hate Hip Hop, why are you here?
JustSaying 266
Fuck a hedgehog. 267
how can you support a muhfucka that aint 100.
you’re the type of fuck that knows bush fucked up on katrina, and let shit slide because he’s the president.
you still believe officer ricky push weight?
in the end, dumb herbs like you keep faulty muhfuckas in business, because you dont stand up for the little guy. and all he wanted was credit. a humble black spade deserves your support in a situation like this. not your retarded justifications and naive comments.
how do we know this is the only instance of this muhfucka doin this?
there might be some unknown person out there somewhere with some REAL skills, being robbed by a fake ass like CH, not getting credit. not getting any respect.
you cant let that happen. and if you do, then you aint no real fan of this hip-hop. plain and simple.
fact is, even though it was internet only release — it was part of a body of work that was claimed to be CH’s. this may not directly end up in dollars — but that track was part of a mixtape that was part of a discography that is now recognized by some poor fucks as “classic” and CH is on the Carson Daly show acting like he’s 100%.
dude is a crook. youre a dumbfuck for believing in this phony.
let’s let dumbfucks be dumbfucks. in the end, real recognize real. 270
Hamilton’s music is okay. I don’t hate him or anything for any reason. But he needs to learn some discipline. A basic tenet of hip-hop is “No biting”. Had he admitted to dude that, “Yeah, I used your beat, I was feelin’ it”, he’d have been good. Instead, he took credit for something that wasn’t his. Biting.
The ProTools session was also a pretty severe self-sonning, as tools for modifying a file’s Created, Last Changed, etc. dates are widely available, and the session files contain the instrumental as created by Spade.
Seriously, Charles: keep doing your thing. But be honest with yourself and everyone else, and give credit where it’s due. 271
Look at it this way: you’re an artist. You make a sketch. You’re at a gallery and see that same sketch, except in full, vivid color. You tell the artist you appreciate what he did with the sketch, and he says he drew it himself. You’d probably stab him in the eye with a pencil. You can do a simile about office jobs, college essays, slam dunks, whatever. It’s wrong to pass off someone else’s work as your own. Forgery. Spade’s being quite generous in spite of the situation.
And considering that this instrumental was jacked, maybe he doesn’t work quite as hard as you think he does. Consider that. It would definitely explain how he has time to make this many songs.
I don’t think Hamilton knew it was Spade’s beat, but he knew damn well it wasn’t his own production. 273
really? he puts in hard work by stealing others beats? the only thing that was really hard for him in this situation was trying to make the fake ass beat files and roll back his computer date.
how you know this is the only instance, b?
im so dissapointed at yall muhfuckas.
200 songs means nothing with 1 that aint his. plain and simple. it’s the principle.
there are producers/artists out there with discographies that are decades deep without one stolen beat.
premo for example.
at some point yall stupid lames need to recognize and acknowledge an artist’s integrity.
you newjacks might not know what that is. but its a nine-letter word that holds a hell of a lot behind it in the industry. once that shit is tainted, his peers will all lose respect for him.
you fans reading this are a dwindling number.
continue to support him if you want. just know that deep down inside, your idol has not been 100 with you.
with chuck ham lying to (YOU) his fans like this, that just shows he dont give a fuck about yall.
by all means. true artists who care about the craft, their following wouldnt let this type of shit happen.
hear no evil. see no evil. i guess thats the mantra for fans of chuck ham.
i need to slap the pink kufis of yall heads. 275
That Black Spade video is the nail in the coffin.
It reaffirms everything I said.
When he plays the percussion loop on his Keyboard and explains that you couldn’t do that on a Motif, that’s it, FUCK A FAKE PRO TOOLS SESSSION, THAT I BLACK SPADE VIDEO DEMOS THE ENTIRE BEAT BROKEN DOWN PIECE FOR PIECE AND SOUND FOR SOUND ON THE MOTHERFUCKIN MPC
There is not one CH Stan I have seeen that knows anything about Production or seems to have any musical background (they can’t spell or write coherent sentences either LOL)
You would have to ENJOY being TREATED LIKE AN IDIOT and TALKED DOWN TO to even still be supporting Charles Hamilton at this point.
You probably the reason Bush got reelected in ‘04, type of motherfuckers that like to be treated like you were born yesterday. (but fuck all that politics shit).
On the other hand, do ya’lll know who 14 KT is? B Money? These are PROFLIC MUSICIANS AND PRODUCERS.
There have been like over 20 Producer/Musicians who have weighed in on this and they ALL got BLACK SPADE’s BACK.
If I was Charles, and I realized this myself, I too would be on some pseudo-suicidal shit right now. That is A JURY OF YOUR “PEERS” and they all find you guilty, and the only people who keep supporting you are non-musicians who talk like they just outta High School. They don’t respect Hip Hop, they only respect Charles, that’s like Tim Hardaway realizing his only friends are Gay people.
Im out. 277
I heard a while back that was your beat for 50’s ‘Hustler’s Ambition’, and you didn’t get proper credit. If so, i’m sending my props. That was a true heater, as was the Jay joint. I know ‘lib did that sample too, but I was diggin how you flipped it. Anyway, where can I hear more of your music, and what do you have in the work for the future??? 279
C.H got caught lyin’
whoah ohh whoaoh ohh
whoaaah whoaah
whooah whoaah
ouchie…credit where credits due would have made this one less internet rap adventure.aww well you live and your learn??.
one thing thats come outta this is that i’ll be checkin for Black Spade’s blaps, didnt know he got down like that!.
pz one and all
.kos 280
*dies 282
because niggas obviously got over jay-z stealing biggie rhymes
and all the other fucked up shit that’s happened throughout the course of time
purists will continue to be mad but whatever
and that’s how the world works 286
And every Charles fan knows the Pink lavalamp was recorded in 2006… We all knew that way before this Black Spades situation… So why the are you doubting it saying some ish about file date changing… can you do that ish on a sega genesis? lmao
Maybe Black Spade did his beat in 2005 whatever but he said in 2007.. and I can tell you this shinin’ track was recorded in 2006.. So I dont knooow..
CHECK OUT THE ORIGINAL SAMPLE FFS
http://www.myspace.com/fbm6142006
Frankie Beverly & Maze – Golden Time of Day..
Funny how Black Shade didn’t say what sample it was before Charles did…
And yea if he stole this beat from Black Spades he must’ve stole every beat on the Pink lavalamp.. since this shit is in exactly the same style as every beat on the pink lavalamp.. lmao
And at ya’ll dudes that didn’t have any idea who black spades was few days ago… Whaddafuck?… why ya’ll got his back now like you have been listening to him since 2006 when he made the Shinin beat ( If he made it it must’ve been in 2007 )
Imo black spade is remaking the beat to get some attention from an up and coming artist… I guess he has now got enough attention.. So just drop it..
whatever I have bunch of more stuff to say but why spend my energy on ranting about something we’ll never agree about… I don’t care if Charles Made the beat or not… But what black spade is saying is def not enough to start hating on CH… Lmao this shit is so stupid… Lets just all get together and make some music… 288
You CAN’T be serious
Did you watch the videos?
Did you read ANY of the original blogs & comments?
Black Spade used no samples in his beat, he played everything
Everything he played & sang is in Charles’ song – you don’t have to just hear it, you can SEE it there in the second video
No one knows the exact date Spade made his beat on nor have they claimed to
I’m sure he doesn’t mark his calendar every time he makes a beat just in case he hears some kid rapping over it 3 years later
Meanwhile, CH has said 3 different recording dates publicly:
- First he said it was recorded in 2007 in his first comment on here
- Then he said it was in Nov 2006 cuz it was his homie’s birthday
- Then the source file says Dec 2006
And yet you still cling to HIS story like its concrete evidence – thats pure bias in your logic.
Even Charles now realizes that was Spade’s beat in his song at this point
He has to – I talked to him on the phone and I know he’s no idiot
Its non-debatable at this point.
Only thing thats still up in the air is the how, when and who from Charles got Spade’s beat
But hes obviously embarrassed at this point and is not man enough to admit he fucked up and got caught out there
So whatever – point proven.
Kid has no credibility with real heads from here on out.
None. 289
This shit is still hilarious hahahahaha
This is why I read blogs(the best might I say)and props to Black for schooling these lil ninjas(cuz he really didnt have to go there with the video. thats just extra credit) and props to freshselects for exposing this weak ass theivin ass rappers we call the future. still Lmfao(wipes tears from eyes)BWUAHHHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! 291
But yea I feel the same I feel like this was blown outta porportion and coulda been settled between the 2 of them.
But that’s just me… 292
What… the beat is obv. chopped from that Frankie Beverly & maze song… is that even arguable?
“
Everything he played & sang is in Charles’ song – you don’t have to just hear it, you can SEE it there in the second video”
He remade the beat and played it on his mpc for you guys… how can that be enough proof for me…
It might as well be Black Spades beat but whatever a lot of these comments sound stupid..
like seriously check 04:00 in that Frankie Beverly & Maze song..
It’s the sample Black Spade or CH must have used.. lmao…
Whatever CH or not I’m back to making some music… 296
Glad to see C.H. fans are sticking by this lame. Jus says there LOYAL & blind BUFFOONS!
This whole thing is old now..hes wack, a biter, a BAD lier, and EXPOSED so the real niccas kno whats up..
Lets keep it pushin,
FINALE’s album is certified greatness! 297
Didn’t Spade have a record deal before you did anyway Chucky?
I hadn’t even heard of CH until all this unfolded. SPADE WINS!

Oh – I was here too – perhaps too late – but I seen it all unfold. 299
“He recently was accused of taking a beat called “Shinin’” from a producer named Black Spade. Charles performed the song at SXSW in 2009 and was confronted about the situation by Black Spade, who was in attendance. Charles denied stealing any material, but through posting his pro-tools files on his blog, he proved to be the jacker of the Spade beat, thus contributing to his own downfall.” 301
?uestlove:
OUCH! wtf chuck?!
Nicolay:
Damn this Charles Hamilton thing blew up fast. Big shout out to my man Black Spade for keeping it really real
Just Blaze:
holy… wow.. kids got balls. *dies
what was dude smokin on when he tried to pull this $#%$??
Illmind:
sorry Charles Hamilton.. ya done
I never liked Charles Hamilton’s music.. to jack a beat is one thing, but to blatantly claim that you made it, when you didn’t, is bafoonery.. Black Spade, don’t let this guy get away with this. I’ll tell you what.. Charles, if you are reading this (or anyone who may know him), post up the stems to the beat with ALL PARTS separated (at least 8 bar loops, kick, snare, hi hats, percussion, synths, “shinin” vocal, etc etc) with start points lined up.. and saying you “2-tracked” it from ya “beat machine” is unacceptable.. if you can provide this, then I will delete my post and whole-heartedly apologize.. (but probably still not cop your music lol).. this reminds me of that cat who took credit for APEX’S “I Get Money” beat for Fif, and tried to re-create it in the studio and made a complete bafoon of himself..
DJ House Shoes:
Its monday march 30th 2009. And Charles Hamilton is still a piece of shit.
Dynas:
Disappointing to say the least. All Spade wanted was credit. That is a humble brother right there do this to the wrong Nigga and a piece of yo ass gets clipped, literally Charles. Lesson learned hopefully keep it real and get love the community is mad small and never forgets….
Phonte:
Between Cudi “retiring” and C Ham stealin beats, this new class of MCs are summa the most whiny, passive-aggressive, beta male niggas ever.
A big part of me though, wonders where we (the older heads) failed this new generation. They OBVIOUSLY missed a few lessons, and it shows.
I know that Kanye opened the floodgates for the male diva/drama queen shit in hip-hop, but he had the talent and sales to back it up.
These new niggas be havin the ego of Kanye, the greasy talk of 50……and the catalogue of Spliff Star.
Khrysis:
dude…really?? thats the same beat dog… him and berg need to do a album together… 302
my mistake..I honestly didnt even open the file cause my laptop is down and this desktop isnt big enough to install protools.
I actually assumed when he CH said he uploaded the session everything that SHOULD be there, would be in there. 303
thanks for the footage skip you shot well.
big up all who rode with a nigga thats all the cred i need
blackspade.aka.stoney rock… 307
after reading all these comments, i am now thoroughly convinced that charles hamilton fans are the most retarded bunch of so-called hip-hop fans i’ve ever come across. 310
Whatup Kenny lol 311
PEACE 313
I love hip-hop; enjoy all types of beats.. one that use samples heavily ones that don’t.
I didn’t call sampling stealing; I was merely pointing out that Spade’s version of “Shinin” isn’t 100% original work. He re-sang a part of an old song, and then re-did the melody.
That’s ALL I’m saying. It’s not like CH stole a completly unique “beat”; he stole a “beat” that is a copy of an old song both melodically and with the singing.
It takes talent to grab a sample and make it sound good on a hip-hop beat; but this story is VERY similar to if 2 artists took the same sample nad made 2 different beats. The only difference is instead of “using the same sample” CH used Spade’s re-recorded “sample.”
It’d be like if I made a beat using a song an American Idol contestant sang with a band that re-arranged the music instead of the original version of the song.
But if you want to know, I do believe the original artists who sang and recorded the music for the original song showed more talent creating that song than Black Spade did copying their song.
That’s not to say BS isn’t talented, or even “as talented” as them; just that in this particular case, while cool, re-singing and creating a simpler version of a song isn’t exactly rocket science.
I’d also rather listen to BS’s re-sung version w/ hip hop lyrics than the original.
AND once again, I am NOT a CH fan; never really liked him. And he does appear to be a liar.. I’d guess Fresh is right and that he doesn’t make very many of his beats at all but uses a Ghost producer, which is why he ASSUMED the 2 songs were just using the same sample. If you don’t isolate BS’s version of the track it SOUNDS like a loop of the original song.
Basically, CH probably never heard BS’s isolated version. 314
K.Fresh thanks cause people needed to know about this.
stealing beats ends careers.
watch. 316
Here are the undeniable, already proven facts:
- Black Spade RECREATED the Frankie Beverly & Maze song, obviously he made it sound like the original still but he DID NOT SAMPLE it. He replayed it. In the video he shows exactly how he did it – piece by piece. (Sidenote: Charles was asked to do a similar video showing how he made HIS beat and he agreed, but later called back saying he wouldn’t be able to do it due to “legal reasons” – i.e. he realized he just added to Spade’s beat and didnt wanna admit it on camera and get sued for copyright)
- Charles Hamilton’s “beat” contains the full, single stereo track of Black Spade’s recreation of the Maze song, and NO elements of the Maze song other than the intro Spade left in there. The second video clearly proves that.
- Black Spade has never claimed an exact date that he created the beat – Charles Hamilton has claimed 3 different ones publicly. Either way, it would be very close to impossible for Black Spade to recreate Charles’ beat himself, especially after only hearing it live. And it would be VERY impossible for Charles to have made the beat himself for various reasons – including not knowing the right equipment that the sounds came from, not realizing that those were Dilla drums he used, not being able to sing in Black Spade’s very recognizable voice, etc.
Anything other than that – how Charles got the beat, if Charles knew it was Spade he was sampling or not, etc. has yet to be proven.
But at the very least Charles has been PROVEN A LIAR since he claimed he was the only person involved in this beat and that he sampled it straight from the record source. At least one of those is impossible at this point, and there were clearly blatant lies and not mistakes.
Comprende? 319
That’s the point that CH/CH fans don’t get, we’re not talking about some regular artist. If BS will have Common or Mos Def charisma/entourage/cue face watheva unmusic criteria people choose to give props to an album, to serve with love would had been something bigger, again it’s ok not the 1st time, not the last neither.
I truly understand CH reaction because BS reaction was unpredictable, instead of acting like a real hip hop thug (=the reaction that most people would had and the only reaction that CH could faced, and btw the reaction that we used to see in this not so perfect culture) BS chooses to act in good manners, so CH kind of freak out. CH is young and a lot of people would have act the same way at his age. Deny is the most natural reaction for that situation and the reaction of most of the people. And CH couldn’t have anticipated the fact that some “influent” people got BS back. So what? It should have stop denying when it gets all over Internet? Again, most of the people would had react the same way.
I write this message now I wouldn’t wrote it like this 2 days ago when the shit start. I obviously understand BS entourage and fans.
And some hate needed to be spread. I think everybody who listened to BS music got this in mind when they start hatin on CH, but nobody said it clearly, now this part of the story is told.
Peace, take this as an ocasion to show some love to Black Spade Music & Excuse my french. 321
I live in the mid, we respect dilla…st louis is in the midwest…You need to give that man his credit for that beat…I don’t care how hard you think you are cuzz, and how untouchable you think you are, you fucking with that man’s livelihood…I’ve seen horrible shit happen over way less…Talking about some real G shit…If you was on your G, you’d be like “yup, I took it, what you gonna do?”
Instead, you start gettin hype, backtracking, and talking about how G you are..and protools files.
LIL NIGGA WHAT?
That don’t mean a damn thang.
Be a man and admit you stole that man’s shit…I don’t know who’s in your ear piping you up, but you need to tell that man quit it before it’s too late. 322
To be honest I Dead Ass give no fuck about any of dis BS. Charles is a fucking musician that RAPS. He just happens to make amazing beats. To be real Shining is not the best beat I ever herd from whoever made it. Charles has made waaaaaaaaayyyyyy beter beats and if you listen to some of his songs you might notice. He produces most of them himself and probably produced this one too. Only God, Spade, Charles, and anyone they told knows.
The only reason y i am commenting is because you make it seem like he is a weak rapper. Just cuz he new yet is on par with some peoples favorite rappers don’t mean you hate. I mean let me be real, 13 tapes in a year is crazy for the normal rapper but if you listen to every last… no just one of them you are gona get hungry and want more. But that’s only if you like real music. And Spades is so fucking irrelevant anyway, i mean everyone starts somewhere and he might be known on the internet my some people but come on now, if he been out that long y is he not hot and known by the majority of people. He said he is 33 well shit where is yo shit at. Yea he made an album, that makes it worse cuz Charles probably got more downloads on his weakest… no less amazing tape. I live in da Chi and i aint eva herd of a Black Spade, not even on da internet. Charles is fuckin signed and was widely known before that. He is putin his niggas on (Demevolist) and they are all raw as hell. IDK or care f spade raps or not(its not worth looking up) but i would bet my fuckin left arm that any one from Demezolist will eat him alive. Charles and Demevolist are a big part of the fuckin future so get with it or get lost. So yea dats my take on this. Got a problem or want to comment email is yellaac@yahoo.com get at me. ~$C-Money$~ 324
if charles is the future, why is this cat cockriding a video game character that is almost 20 years old? LMAO. wearing pink, a trend that was dipset like 5 years ago. and treating you like you were born yesterday?
the future looks bleak for all of us if you really think they’re going to be it.
the future is finale, thrilla, and all that.
not to mention, who needs the future when we’ve got vets like raekwon about to drop a gems like OBFCL2.
i’ll take my chances with the past. obviously where hamilton is living. but making you believe that a 90s video game is the future. his cult following is hilarious.
stupid lames. 325
pause for the cause..
GOOD music..forever. 326
CH fans: worse than not acknowledging CH’s transgressions is justifying them. “This isn’t even the best beat he’s rapped over”, “CH has hundreds of songs and you’re focusing on just one”, “I like Charles’s version better anyway”. That’s bullshit. “Just once” is one time too many.
I don’t care how long Spade’s been in the game without a feature on Last Call with Carson Daly. Just because it hasn’t happened yet doesn’t mean it won’t happen. See: MURS, Santogold, etc. But that’s completely irrelevant when it comes to having the decency to not jack a man’s beat then not acknowledge it to his face- even worse, claim you produced it. 327
The whole point is that credit was not given where it was due.
Point blank. Show some respect. 328
Hip Hop is not just music, it’s a culture, it’s a community, it’s art and expression. No one is on CH’s case for wanting to add to that culture with his music – We’re on his case because in order to be regarded as a true artist, a true MC, and a true part of the community, there’s some shit you just can’t do. Biting is numero uno. I could give a fuck if Charles is signed or if Spade is not, because Spade kept it real and Charles didn’t.
If you are going to call yourself an “artist” then you have to respect the art. You have to respect other artists and their work. If you can do that then your just another wannabe pretending to be real.
Now if you really love the music, the culture, and the community of Hip Hop then you wouldn’t even say some ignorant shit like that. And if Charles was really that passionate about Hip Hop and helping to change it for the better then he would live by those rules.
Also, have you ever heard the term “over saturation”? It’s what happens when you release 13 mixtapes in one year. 329
FALL BACK! Just because yo boy got exposed for the thief he was dont mean you need to diss a HONEST mc. Spade gets mad love and YOU may not know of him but others do. Spade got tracks with alot of REAL dudes in the game so that weak talk is for the birds B! And you talk like Charles Hamilton is only one that has better beats?! Ninja Please! Spade got mad beats that Charlie Boi aint got nothing on. And for the record SPADE HAS NO PRO TOOLS OR EVEN A COMPUTER IN HIS STUDIO, ONLY MACHINES AND INSTRUMENTS. Get with it…
P.S
HE IS A WEAK RAPPER!!!!!! 331

IMAGINE YOU HAD THE POWER TO CHANGE HIP HOP? SO THAT THINGS NEVER WERE THE SAME AGAIN? THE FUNNY THING ABOUT THAT IS…
YOU CAN.
CHANGE HAS BEEN UNDER YOUR NOSES ALL THIS TIME.
“THERE’S RULES TO THIS SHIT” (C) DJ PREMIER
^^^ THIS WAS PLASTERED ON THE HEADER OF THE FRESH SELECTS BLOG. YOU SEE, I ALWAYS THOUGHT…WITH HIP HOP…THE ONLY RULE IS THAT THERE ARE NO RULES.
KENNY FRESH PUT UP A FRONT THIS WHOLE TIME, CLAIMING TO BE UPSET ABOUT THE AMOUNT OF TRAFFIC HIS WEBSITE GOT DUE TO THESE BEAT JACKING ACCUSATIONS – HA! HE LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT. SPENT A LOT OF TIME PREACHING TO THE CHOIR, PROVIDING UP TO THE MINUTE UPDATES AND ARGUING WITH DETRACTORS.
SO, KENNY FRESH WILL BE MY FIRST VICTIM. I GOT DIRT ON MR. FRESH AND WILL BE AIRING HIM OUT AT SOME POINT THIS WEEK. THAT’S ALL THAT WILL BE SAID REGARDING THAT. STAY TUNED TO FRESH SELECTS AND CHARLES HAMILTON’S BLOG FOR THAT, I’LL BE IN THE C-SECTION.
IF KENNY FRESH WANTS A BATTLE, WE WILL GIVE HIM A WAR. AND THERE IS NO WAR WITHOUT CASUALTIES. UNFORTUNATELY, KENNY DECIDED TO SEND OUT HIS LITTLE BUDDY BLACK SPADE TO THE FRONT LINES TO GET MURKED.
BLACK SPADE, HERE’S MY PLAN FOR YOU. AND THIS GOES FOR THE OTHER EMCEES / PRODUCERS I LISTED ABOVE, AND ANYONE ELSE WHO GETS IN THE WAY: I AM GOING TO GO THROUGH EVERY ALBUM, EVERY SONG, AND I WILL FIND EVERY SAMPLE. ONCE I FIND THE SAMPLE, I WILL CONTACT THE ESTATES AND/OR RECORD LABELS OF SAID ARTISTS. IT’S A SHAME THAT SO MANY UNDERGROUND RAPPERS/RAP LABELS DON’T CLEAR SAMPLES – QUITE THE GLASS CEILING – DON’T YOU THINK? I HOPE THESE UNDERGROUND EMCEES / PRODUCERS HAVE ENOUGH MONEY SAVED UP TO CLEAR THESE SAMPLES, BECAUSE IF NOT, THEIR ALBUMS ARE ABOUT TO BECOME COLLECTORS ITEMS. THAT’S MY WORD. AND MY WORD IS MY BOND. ANYONE CAN GET IT.
MUCH LOVE TO MR. HAMILTON. TIME TO STOMP OUT THESE COCKROACHES.
I CAN AND WILL KILL HIP HOP.

“Mr Zodiak”
Man.. you are one of the only cats on here actually making SOME sense and using logic in your thinking. So I gotta respect you for that.
At least you admit the beat is stolen – sorry you took the whole situation so personally, but thats on you.
For real though – I’m NOT trying to have my site blow up on some crazy traffic shit
My blog has and always will be for a specific niche of music listeners and I understand that
I’m much more concerned about quality than I ever could be about quantity – which is why I only make like 3 or 4 posts a week tops.
I did email my link & story to other websites to get it re-posted, just as I always do with my exclusive posts.
Ask any other blogger I mess with – my exclusives have been reposted on NahRight, 2DopeBoyz, VIMBY, AllHipHop, etc. for months before all of this ever started
I honestly never expected to see the amount of traffic I have these last few days, but I’m also not getting gassed by it either
Cuz I know most people are just stepping in real quick for some quick fix controversy/beef shit and probably wouldn’t give a fuck about the other artists I post about on the regular
And I’m cool with that.
If they stick around – dope, more people to put onto good music
If they don’t – no sweat off my back
Notice there are no ad’s on my site and most likely never will be
I’ll never made a single cent from Fresh Selects and I don’t really intend to at this point
It ain’t about that.
But don’t get it twisted – there are most definitely rules to this rap shit
True hip-hop is very anti-establishment in its nature, but there still needs to be some self-regulation within the culture otherwise people could get away with all types of ridiculous shit
And I’m sure that Charles realizes this too, which is probably why hes called out Soulja Boy and others like he has
So thats all I was doing – self-regulating the culture and exposing a blatant liar
My blog is not about beef though
There are plenty of other artists doing much bigger & better things than Charles is that I personally am not a fan of
But you’ll never find a single mention of their name on my site, just like there was zero previous mention of Charles on there
That is, until he got blatantly caught pulling some bullshit on an artist that I not only considered extended fam, but more importantly, have posted about & supported in the past,
and even worse – denying and then lying about it.
Anyway, looking forward to seeing and discrediting whatever “dirt” you got on me. LOL
My conscience is clean and so is my track record in the industry, so I’m not worried.
You can call me if you have any further questions
Charles has the number” 335
Does he know how much he fucked up? Does he know the Black Spade has REAL fans and supporters? Does he know that what he did isn’t acceptable on any level? Does he know that there are a LOT of places he can’t go now? Probably not.
Well, I guess this is what we can expect from the poster boy for Hip Hop 2.0, huh? (Carson Daly’s phrase, not mine).

Its cool guys… the more you listen to music, the more you will immerse yourself into it, the more you will understand it.
In several years time when your tastes develop and you discover the hard work that goes into music (hopefully one day you will dabble into music production and learn first hand) you will realise that this is a BIG DEAL.
Your argument about ’shine’ being one of CH’s weakest beats/tracks and how he has another dozen tracks that are better does not add fuel to your argument.
Who says he hasn’t used other peoples beats in the past without giving credit. I think this point is HUGE… How many times has CH jacked other peoples beats in the past? I truly hope only this once.
Personally, I don’t really like CH’s music that much…. BUT its not that bad considering the rubbish that is polluting our airwaves. i just hope CH has the balls to admit (at least to Black Spade) that he messed up.
All these CH fans sound really young and look as though they are supporting an artist they really like and are really into (which is a great thing – so many artist only wish they could have that kind of support). CH is really lucky to have fans like that who support him even though its a blatant rip off.
Hopefully he give them what THEY deserve… The Truth.
I am tired of people not being transparent.
ps. Stay off that ‘g shit’ CH – its so lame man. 349
I’m pretty sure people producing don’t see beats as petty. In fact, they likely see it as the opposite: their livelihood. What they make money off of, how they keep themselves fed. “Who gives a fuck about something as petty as a day’s pay?”
Stop being so defensive and look past perceived biases against CH in this blog. Instead, look straight at the facts. The fact is, Black Spade was able to produce the individual elements of the beat, while CH could only produce a ProTools session that included the already completed instrumental. 350
You know why career’s NEED to be Destroyed?
THE RAPPING FLIGHT ATTENDANT
That’s why.
Charles Hamilton should be flying the friendly skies while that dude is on the cover of XXL , for real. 352
LOL THATS WHATS UP!!!
How is a CH fan gonna call a the beats “petty”?
It’s just like this cats to say some shit like “as petty as a beat”
that totally sums up their attitude, its DISRESPECTFUL TOWARDS HIP HOP.
Not to sound like a loser, but if it wasen’t for “petty old beats”, i’d probably be on some junkie shit right now, half way to homelessness.
Hip Hop Saved My life, beats are anyting BUT petty, Beats are everything to me, Beats are my religion, Beats are my sancturary, Beats are my CHURCH.
If I was Charles Hamilton I would be ASHAMED of my fan base, I would PERSONALLY tell them ALL to pipe down, because they are only embarrasing him further.
Long Live Beats. You petty motherfuckers. 354

VANDALYZM AND ALL OTHER “REAL-SHIT ARTICULATORS” STAND UP AND BREAK THE LADDER BENEATH YOU 355
Any real producer would be like “fuck the beat, I’ll go ahead and make a better one than that…” Dilla did that all the time. If someone hyped up a beat, dude would just delete it and make another one. Don’t try to make a name for yourself on some bullshit. I mean…you just heard this track? Lol, people will do anything to make a name for themselves.
March 30, 2009 11:53 AM”
that’s the kinda mindstate that CH fans are in… any real producer wouldn’t steal a beat you idiot. and dilla did stress some of those occurrences or why do you think there is a remix of “got till it’s gone”…
and last but not least: spade ain’t trying to make a name out of this. dude is well known even over here in europe… 356
First off…..Black Spade is dope…..
The whole thing really is crazy. The real tragedy is that this whole situation is showing the HUGE disconnect between 2 generations of Hip-Hop, 2 generations, might I add, that aren’t even that far apart from each other.
People who are IN THE GAME came on the blog site and told CH’s fans that the song was ripped off. People who make a LIVING off of it, and know the difference between tracks, the deal with them everyday. And people were STILL defending CH on this……
This is the reason I gave up on the Hip-Hop argument. Its obvious that the same rules do not apply anymore. If this would have happened circa 92′-97′, heck, before THEN, we probably would have been reading about this getting physical in The Source or XXL. It happens now, is VEHEMENTLY denied, and now, is defended by the fan.
Forget that you do or don’t like CH’s music……at the end of the day, all BS wanted was credit for a joint he obviously could have gotten paid for. This is the main problem, taking food out of someone’s mouth, and then lying to his face about it. Not only does CH not have respect for BS musically, he also disrespected him as a MAN.
This man might have kids to feed, and he graciously only asked for credit, knowing that if people liked the joint, the money will come. Its called PAYING DUES.
I honestly hate that this is what it is all coming down to. The man BROKE DOWN THE WHOLE SONG. I don’t care how much of a fan I am, if this was to happen to an artist I liked, and he/she lied this bad about the situation when the proof was obvious?
No more of my money for you.
Whatever the outcome, I wish the best for Spade, dude is ridiculous. And his “G” far exceeded CH’s. 357
Another thing it’s seems a tad odd that this all comes about around the year his album is suposed to drop…strange right? I mean the mixtape was made some years ago If any one remebers that. Why didn’t he adress it then? Very Queer…get off my nigga Charles dick please and thank you. holla at me on FaceeBook Charles, lol! 359

Hope it doesn’t get lost in the sauce.
Shame on everyone who never heard of Spade before this, BTW. 360
I wish you would make good on that threat, homie!!!!!!
Go through these dude’s catalogs so that you could actually learn something about production and Hip Hop in general.
Cats like 14kt and Black Spade could actually teach you how to put a track together.
You’re on a label bro, you have legal ramifications…. Cats are indie and don’t give fuck except punching you in the face. 363
you’re going to have some problems with 14kt’s catalog…..FACT!!!!!
I’ll be real amused to see what you come up with.
You’ll soon find out you’re out of your league, and not as talented as you’ve convinced fans you are. 364
That sample is tight. I like Charles Hamilton but you look real suspect right now and I know you feel it. Wale says you got a lot of trouble coming your way…and I believe him 366
lol
Black Spades dope yo.. 369
since he really made it..were is it?
hip hop is so lame now days they let homo niggas get away with the wackest shit…str8 up 370
ok, cool, that was my bad then
…. I was about to say!
MR ZODIAK…..
that was the most non-threatening ‘threat’ I had ever seen in my life. I hope you weren’t serious, fam!
Whoever made that comment needs to study the game a little closer to know that threat holds no bearing and couldn’t stop cats from doing what they do.
I still encourage Mr. Zodiak to visit those catalogs and listen to some dope music, because there will be no casualties (in this non-war) on account of him. 374
Much Respect Kenny Fresh….sorry it happened to you Black Spade, keep up the work homie and Charles get a life lol…

I don’t even know how 14KT’s name got brought into all of this anyway??
Besides for Spade shoutin him & Buff1 out in the video and him leaving 1 comment on here, I don’t really understand why he got singled out by this “Zodiak” character
I mean, if you’re gonna go after everyone who joined in on the CH sonning, then lets not forget:
Just Blaze
?uestlove
Phonte
Slug from Atmosphere
Illmind
House Shoes
Rhettmatic
Chino XL
Nicolay
Miss Info
Karen Civil
Its The Real
FWMJ
Elliott Wilson & RapRadar
the list goes on & on
but yet this dude is worried more about 14KT??
damn… guess KT must be really doin it right now to trump all the others mentioned! LOL!!! 376
^^^^
Snitch ass nigga get the fuckouttahea.
That’s a capitol offense. 377
Care to comment on Black Spades video? 378
Right? wow, i didn’t even think about that. 380
he made a mistake and i don’t think that everybody should be completely shittin’ on him for this one isolated incident.
bottom line: he was wrong but everybody is entitled to make a mistake. hopefully he’ll learn from it and will continue to do his thing. 381
Dead ass.”
- Charles Hamilton
With that, I invite everyone to boycott him with me. DEAD ASS. lolololololololzzZzzZZZzZzz. 382
haha
i really digg the beat
its crazy a song that meant so much to dude he lies about
Shits Nuts
shout out Chuck still dig ya music
shout out Black Spade im lookin for more music
Kenny get at me 383
Pause.
You’re hella gassed over gettin a response from someone who isn’t spending their day criticizing other people’s career in half assed rants.
Pause.
At least the Mysterious Benefactor had something relevant to post in, and I understand that. But still, the nigga has like 40 mixtapes out and now all the haters are coming out of their holes. Shit, it’s hella said to see this lame finding the smallest shit to hate on. ‘Oh man, I only want 4 to 5 mixtapes a year lol!’ The fuck outta herrre, lol! Blatant haterism, nice. 384
http://WWW.MYSPACE.COM/BEATSBYNONSENSE 389
That’s out of the way. Comments on this topic, enough has been said. It’s obvious what is going on. Good for Black Spade and bad for CH, I guess he won’t be doing to many shows in Portland. 391
I make beats also.
I’m 14, granted, but I’ve been pretty deep into this shit for 2 years.
As far as Bob, I wanna say that the two beats are, in fact, mastered quite differently.
Blame it on the Rough-ness of Spade’s copy, sure.
Just know that Charles put (at least a LITTLE) more work into his copy.
My verdict:
Charles stole the beat from Spade’s Myspace.
Charles THEN added some work into the beat, and used it on The Pink Lavalamp.
My Suggestion:
Come clean Charlie. 392
Most notably.
The beat ducks on the kicks.
Signature Charles-Hamilton.
(not to say he started it, but he does use it alot)
It also sounds like it has an extra “AHHH” on it during the verse, possibly Charles recorded that himself, or whatever. 393
I can buy that, I did notice something like that.
You got a good ear kid! keep doin your thing playboy!! 396
peeped the blog for a while. first time posting a comment.
to the OGs posting in here… much love. as a music lover, its so got damn refreshing to see a collection of cats (that actually know what the fuck is up) stand up for somethin real and against some fake shit. props.
to the kids that think charles hamilton is anything more than the rapping equivalent of the cartoons he wears on his shirts… sorry yall missed out on the first few decades of hip hop.
really tho… i just felt i needed to type somethin to vent my frustration with kids and “artists” nowadays.
all bull shit aside. lying is one of the simplest and most direct forms of disrespect.
and chucky cheese has been throwin fibbs our way as long as he’s been wearin pink tees.
to take an persons art and repurpose it… is one thing. to take a man’s work and not only take credit for it… but to say that THAT MAN is lying, and STOLE YOUR WORK….
thats an unforgivable offense in my book.
it gets me heated to see this go down. as a graphic/web designer… ive had my shit jacked numerous times.
hell, even at my last firm i had bosses (whom never even opened photoshop/illustrator) take credit for the blood/sweat/tears i put in. shit is beyond demoralizing.
and thats with me havin no real emotional/vested interest in my work. if it were a painting, or a poster or some shit that i did for myself … i couldnt imagine how i would react.
id imagine it be the same way for a musician.
the fact my man spade even had to make a video to CLEAR HIS NAME … is ridiculous.
MAYNE. i could go on for days… but im too faded/heated.
i really just wanted to chime in and show love/appreciation to the blog and some of the Gs that posted.
*salute* 397
read this blog from links to comments.
while reading i didn’t know who charles hamilton was. to me, his rebuttal sounded desperate and ignorant.
i am familiar with black spade though, i happen to have his album, and after listening to both songs i seems like CH did bite.
only after finishing the entire read did i figure out who charles hamilton is. i was like “oh that dude?” and instantly i remember really not really feeling his music video.
sorry charlie, everybody knows what is, what it sound like, what it look like and what it is.
black spade’s music video is tight though. just sayin.
100-aboriginal peace 401
i dont talk nice jus call it like “I” c it 403
With that said, Honesty goes a long way ( In life in general) Who knows, maybe you and Spade could have networked… Build bridges, don’t burn em.
- Be easy
C&A 406
Fuck that nigga Charles Hamilton.
We i.e. Spade, Tef, Van, and every other STL nigga tryin’ to do this thing here the right way are sick of niggas like this.
Now those are so humble, low key cats, but fuck that. That nigga Charles Hamilton is a bum.
And this is a smidgen of a big picture. Somebody at some label thinks this kid is talented. And I’m sure he was until his feeble mind ran outta ideas.
I know what the nigga was thinkin’, “Who’s gonna know”, “Who’s gonna find out?”, it’s just for a mixtape.
Nigga that streets talk and the internet screams.
STOP BITING OUR STYLE, STEEZ, SWAG, WHATEVER. 407
I have never heard him on the radio..
How many albums has he sold?
Where is his video on MTV?
People hate punks, bitches, and liars.
Which makes hating this kid so easy.
Its easy to hate when you bring it on yourself. 408
i gave the dude a chance, but now this story blew up lol 410
Im a CH fan and i support him whether or not he took the beat he’s still smashing tracks and putting out good music…. 412
Plenty. But generally they don’t take credit for producing it themselves.
-”So what if he stole one beat who the fuck cares”
Black Spade cares. To you, it may be “just a beat”, but to him, it’s something he crafted and put hard work into, just have someone take it and, even worse, take credit for it.
-”overall charles is young and made a mistake by lying about the shit”
It’s good that you can at least see the truth. The issue he made is refusing to own up to his mistake.
I’ll make it clear that I’m not on the hate wagon. I’m on the indifference wagon. But you have to remember…
“There’s a sign at the door: no bitin’ allowed. And if you didn’t read it I suggest you do so.” 414
There is soooo much Music out there that If something is not to your liking. Just turn the ish off and move on.
But Charlie Hamilton has repeatedly and like clockwork made a complete fool of himself. I understand he does work hard and and I respect that. He grinds his little heart out. Its just the choices this cat makes are horrible and I think he just acts before he thinks. Plus he is well Aware that Negative Publicity is the easiest and fastest sureshot way to make noise. (example: paris hilton, Amy whinehouse, etc)
The Issue w/ Rhymefest was horrible. Duke lacks respect in general for people. The joint the fest did the “superSonic” track is classic so I guess something good came out of hamiltons bad move.
I remember the 1st Interview I saw w/ Charlie. Tho I dug his drive, ambition and imagination. Duke was over the top Egotistical and Immature.
Being such a fan of dope hiphop and growing up in the 90’s thru all the Classic ish, its sad to see some of these newer cats add to the dumb ish.
I love alot of new stuff, in fact there is more new dope talent right now then ever before and alot arent new at all but never stopped making dope ish, emcee’s and producers (Buff1, Median, Finale, mono/poly, pac div, samiyam, illmind, m-phazes, raks-1, tanya morgan, afta-1, black spade, will widdoss, Intact, Dela, Invincible, mokaonly, D. Rose, Kay, Onra, Take, Dj Jamad & Floyd the locsmif, david luke, 14kt, DERT, Blu, Leaf Erikson, Majestik Legend, Ahu, Dorian Concept, ……
MAn I can keep goin and going and going……
Everyone knows Black Spade did that beat. and the longer Charley keeps on acting like a child…. the deeper of a hole he is going to dig himself…..
Honestly, I am super happy this happened, because all this Wack publicity due to Beatjacking is giving Black Spade more shine…
and I am going to be as sincere as possible.
To Serve w/ love was the dopest album I have purchased in a long time. And everything duke does is amazing. So its good more people finally will get to hear his music.
Im sure Spade is just as happy..
hahahah
Peace to FRESH SELECTS for bringing Truth to the Light.

Oh dont use other peoples music to make beats around bass and drums!!!
Psshhh, so there goes like all the classic shit for the next five years, the RZA’s, the Primo’s, The Beatminerz.
Its all about loops, samples, vandalism. 418
With that being said after reviewin the facts Charles is pulling a straight up BItch move Takin Black’s beat and not ownin up to it probobly cause u fine tuned it urself what next U gon tell rhianna that the “Neverland” beat didnt have her voice in it boii u losing respect even if u dont kno where tha base sample was from u kno u aint sing or take it direct charles that is blatently Black Spade on that sample
Hamilton you need to humble yourself homie or lose to another random white kid in a Freestyle battle or Rhymefest take your pick
BS keep doin u Charles apologize and then Keep doin u
PS Still better than most of tha rappers out include half of the top ten 420
so you are already controversially on the Detroit bandwagon and you just called their most sacred production tool a fuckin motif. your motif can do a lot of things and I am jealous of it but you have to save the whole auto industry like gung ho to move a unit out that way after graverobbing and shitting so hard on their musical production
“i made that on my motif!” 421
I’m a producer myself and I TOO have been jacked from beats, and no one would believe that I made it, which is why I dont release beats on the internet, I rap aswell so the onlyone taking credit for my creation is me 425
