Ka
"No Downtime"

After about a year of consistently great self-produced singles & self-directed videos
from his self-released (sensing a theme here?) albums -
Brownsville, BK representative Ka
seems to finally be now seeing the type of recognition he deserves
w/ the release of his latest video, this time “No Downtime.”

Premiered by Okayplayer this morning (the first they’ve posted from him),
the video is pretty par the course if you’re been keeping up w/ Ka -
but at the same time, if you have been – you know that par is a pretty exceptional one.

Don’t get it confused though – Ka is no newcomer to the game.
Formerly a member of the Lyricist Lounge-featured group, Natural Elements
& then later one half of the duo, Nightbreed -
Ka has putting out records since the early 90′s.
With some downtime (oops) in the middle, Ka has (thankfully) made a resurgence
after his partner Roc Marciano got Ka started on producing his own beats,
which enabled him to create the solo album he always wanted to,
w/ his self-released Iron Works CD in 2008.

Following that up w/ this year’s Grief Pedigree LP,
Ka’s name started to really pick up steam
after respected names like Yasiin Bey, House Shoes,
& Erykah Badu (who first put us on to him when she twittered his “Cold Facts” video last October),
all showed public support.
