SLCT’ED BEAT TAPE:
Contact Lens –
Ice In Tha Veins

Last night, while researching the Denzel Curry tape*,
we came across this beat tape from one of its featured producers -
Ice In Tha Veins by Ohio-based beatmaker
(& self-professed “FL STUDIO GENIUS”), Contact Lens.

In his series of frequent free releases
adorned w/ (awesomely) horrible 90′s Microsoft WordArt covers,
Contact Lens makes some of the most unique beats we’ve heard in a while.
On Ice…, released just last month, Lens takes everything from
80′s dating video TV commercials funk/R&B to dentist office smooth jazz/AM rock
& filters it thru a dusty and blunted, screwed-up & slighty Based perspective,
sometimes even throwing in lean’ed out accapellas
of Biggie’s “Suicidal Thoughts” over them for good measure.

And somehow… it doesn’t suck. Like, at all.
You gotta hear it to believe it.

You can stream the full instrumental album
before downloading it for free below.

*It’s worth nothing that “2 Tha Dawn,” as featured here,
is also the instrumental to Denzel Curry’s “PhonkyChevySouthernKlvnZuPimpinMusik
