Now this is a post I’ve been meaning to make since before I even started this site – and I finally think that the timing is right. Truthfully, Dolphin is still somewhat of a mystery to me. But I don’t think he’d have it any other way. I do know that he is an extremely talented solo artist (singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist/producer) that has about 36 self-recorded full length projects to his name. I’ve heard and/or obtained somewhere around 8 or 10 or so of these, and each one is just as great as the next. Along with his solo work, he also leads an equally impressive full live band, The Airmath, and has also collaborated with artists such as Ge-ology, Waajeed/PPP, Spank Rock, Anti-Pop Consortium, Primus Luta and more. His sounds is what I image Prince would sound like if he had never signed with a label and did all his recordings at home, Cody ChesnuTT-style – but even that is a disservice to what it is that Dolphin does.
To better acquaint the world with that sound – I’ve got the Mono vs. Stereo Collection, which I think has a nice, concise starter kit for the world of Dolphin. Included here are five full length songs, giving you just a taste of what he has to offer. Here’s some more info on the collection, swiped from his blog:
“In 2005, PRPS Jeans of Tokyo Japan wanted a free promo to give away. At the time Dolphin was doing music for Akademiks and PRPS Jeans were an affiliate. He decided to put together five songs as a freebie and basically give them away for free. Two years later when he started Wardolphin.com, it doubled as one of the first albums to be up for sale. This EP is in no way the way it was originally intended to be heard, each song comes from a different album and it served as way to get people turned on to Dolphin and his many albums floating the internet. Dolphin gave me the marching orders to give yet another album… away for free. Wow. That being said, in the spirit of free music, free art, and a free mind… here is Dolphin’s MonovsStereo EP. Mixed by Earl Blaize.”
And I assure you – this is just the very tip of the iceberg. So dig on this for now and be on the look out for much more from Dolphin coming right here in the following weeks. In the meantime, leave a comment and let me know what you think of this one.

OK Kenny, four words…YOU’VE DONE IT AGAIN. This guy is filling the void that A Race of Angels left ever since ‘Broadcast No. 1′ dropped and he kinda vanished. I have been looking for something on that chill out / soul / trippy vibe for a MINUTE now. Dolphin is the one. Thanks for this.
genius.
Dolphin is a crazy musical talent. You guys have to check out the rest of his work. Thanks Kenny!

been following Dolphin’s music for the last 2 years, intenstly… only because his music is definitely felt from heart and soul. it’s rare to find a musician so dedicated to the artwork essence of free music. Dolphin is definitely a FRESH KEPT SECRET.
support independent artist!
That article is correct, this is just the tip of the iceberg for Dolphin’s music. He has others floating around the internet that you should also check out.
Listening to Dolphin is always a real personal experience. The man truly makes soul music.
Dolphin is a major influence on the underground “progressive soul” scene. If you can, you need to check out some of his earlier joints such as:
MathStar
The Opium Sky(A must!)
Times are Hard for Dreamers
Wargasm Vol 1&2
There are many more, but this is a good place to start for the newbies just checking him out.
Peace and enjoy the music!
A little birdie told me Dolphin and The Airmath might be gigging around Baltimore and possibly overseas this summer. Hmmmmmm sounds very nice because those dudes put on a good LIVE show. I saw them a few times and came away very impressed with their live show.
The gig at the 13th Floor in Baltimore last summer was hot. Not only was the music hot, but Dolphin and The AirMath also pull in some hot ladies to their shows!!
lightstreet iz alwayz a top 5 for me/ great orchestration, vocals, mix/ respect to airmath, came to newyork and blessed the stage of the “knitting factory” before the venue reached its closing date. real music for the realistic.. shouts to EARL BLAZE on the mixes..”gunnin” early classic / “deserve you” is new vintage….DOLPHIN is now.
Damn, Dolphin & TheAirmath played the legendary Knitting Factory? That’s very impressive!!
