One of our favorite discoveries last week was
“Disappear” – the new video from Petite Noir,
the latest alias from Belgian-born, South Africa-based Yannick Ilunga -
who also serves as one half of Cape Town duo-on-the-rise, Popskarr.
The follow-up to last month’s stellar single & video, “Till We Ghosts”
(which we’ve also included here),
“Disappear” is equally as New Wave-influenced as its predecessor,
but this time leans in a more dance-influenced direction
than “Ghosts”‘ minimalist afro-rock skeletons -
both of them making for a very interesting solo catalog
of a young artist still in its earliest stages.
“Disappear” was originally recorded at Red Bull’s Cape Town studios,
& was first released as a free download via their site back in April.
