(12″ Single) Label: Tres Records Producer: Exile Notes: none Analysis: Shawn Jackson is a new name to me, but I definitely have to start paying him some more attention.  ‘Here We Go Again’ is basically Jackson rhyming over a straight up Sega Genesis tune, instantly bringing me back to 1993. When Jackson appeared a few days ago on U-N-I’s new single, I wasn’t expecting him to drop his own song so quickly after and manage to win me over for good. The beat is a clunky, 16-bit chiptune sound by Exile, who I know from his and Blu’s excellent Below the Heavens album from last year. If I have any complaints about ‘Here We Go Again’, its that the lyrics are a little generic, but Exile’s beat makes it fun enough to listen to to give that a pass.
