Here is the FRSHCLSV premiere of the brand new mixtape from one of my new favorite MC’s, ADaD (pronounced uh-dod). Coming out of Chicago, ADaD has been making a name for himself as part of the All Natural, Inc. crew for years now, releasing both an EP and full-length release as one half of the group, Eulorhythmics, with producer Kenny Keys. Recently, he’s been making a lot of noise as a solo artist with The Unbenounced Mixtape – a free download project where he brings a whole new light to the Music From The Color Purple beat CD (which in itself was a free download, inspired by a certain Minneapolis funk pioneer).

I personally first heard of ADaD from Exile and DJ Day, who both went out of their way to recommend his music to me on separate occasions, coincidentally on the same night. So with my interest officially sparked, I checked him out only to be pleasantly surprised that he lived up to all that they were saying, and then some. ADaD is what I consider to be a total-package MC – he effortlessly flips an array of topics through countless styles and cadences, all matched with catchy, well-written hooks and a choice selection of beats. After immediate and endless replays of his mixtape, he has quickly cemented his place in a very small group of up-and-coming/current MC’s that I’m truly impressed with these days.

So, if you’re like me and are just now catching on to ADaD this late in the game (but yet still so early) – his latest offering, the Intro To ADaD mixtape is the perfect place to start. It serves as a smorgasbord of old, current and upcoming music of his, all mixed by All Natural’s own, DJ Tone B. Nimble. Included are tracks featuring original production from Black Spade and Kenny Keys, as well as ADaD’s fresh takes on familiar instrumentals by Dilla, Madlib, Exile and more. For further listening, I’ve also included a download link to the full Unbenounced Mixtape, courtesy of AllNaturalHipHop.com.

First off, apologies for the brief hiatus – it just be like that sometimes. Anyway, I’m back up in it now with two more Mello Music Group exclusives for you guys today. Following up on last week’s debut from Oddisee‘s Mental Liberation album, I’ve got one more for you – the “Drugs Outside (Remix)” featuring Black Milk and Rapper Big Pooh. This is a new remix from the track that was originally released as an extended single last year and was also used for Georgia Anne Muldrow‘s “2 MC’s” off her recent Ms.One album.

And along with Mental Liberation, Oddisee’s remixes of LA rapper, Trek Life‘s Price I’ve Paid album – retitled New Money is also in stores this week. So to coincide with that, Trek blessed us with an exclusive, unreleased track entitled, “Break Up Season,” which was produced by Flip out of Linz, Austria.

Here’s a late first listen of the newly released compilation from Georgia Anne Muldrow, under her production alias, Ms.One. The album features Ms.One producing for (and in some cases introducing) her whole Epistrophik Peach Sound crew, which features songstress, Jimetta Rose; spoken word artist, Eagle Nebula; rapper Illicit Child, and a slew of others. And as previously posted, the album also features a guest spot from Stacy Epps on the highlight, “Motivations.”

Another guest spot on the album includes Black Milk & Rapper Big Pooh trading verses on the short but impactful, “2 MC’s.” The track is actually Georgia’s remix of Mello Music Group’s “Drugs Outside” (originally produced by Oddisee) from Georgia’s upcoming album with Dudley Perkins, entitled SomeOthaShip.

To go along with the download of “2 MC’s,” I’ve also got full-length streams of Illicit Child‘s somber anthem for the strugglers, “Far Behind,” and a fierce Georgia solo song, “Mr. President” (which Georgia informs us doesn’t only pertain to Bush).

And since this album “preview” is a little late, I’ve even thrown in an exclusive first listen to “Roses,” the first single off of Georgia Anne Muldrow’s upcoming Umsindo album. Be on the look out for an upcoming remix of “One Man Show” featuring a special guest, as well as a full-length pre-album download (it’s way too dope to be called a mixtape). Both the pre-release and the actual album are ridiculous – trust me. Pipe Dream is easily one of the best rap albums I’ve heard in a minute.

If you don’t already know, Fresh Kept Secret vet, Daru has really been doing his thing lately. From both drumming for live acts such as Slum Village, Black Milk, and Kweli’s Idle Warship, as well as producing & remixing acts like Kissey Asplund, Tableek of Maspyke, Reggie B & others – Daru has been working like crazy these last couple of years. Today we’ve got free downloads of three of the latest products of that labor.

Starting it off, we have the newly leaked track from Daru’s collaboration album with soul singer, AB, entitled “On Deck” and features a guest verse from Black Milk. I first heard the track when Ab posted the YouTube link on my newest addiction, Twitter, and I had been planning on debuting the download on here ever since – but I gotta give credit to both Eighty81 and Rhymehouse for beating me to the punch. The track will appear on Ab & Daru’s upcoming album which should hopefully be dropping in ’09.

Following that up is Daru’s (as yet) unreleased, official remix of Muhsinah‘s track, “Once Again.” On this one, Daru takes the semi-smoothed out vibe of the original track from her Oscillations: Sine album and adds his signature chopped-up groove to it, while also supplying it with a lil’ more bang than it originally had.

Closing the set out is another remix, this time for well-known broken beat singer, Joy Jones, from her latest 12″ single, “The Joy.” This is the only track of the three that’s already been released, so big up to Recordbreakin for allowing me to include it. I have to say… this remix is definitely one of Daru’s craziest works to date and it kind of took me by surprise at first. It has a dope broken/afro beat vibe to it that I really like, but leave a comment and let me know what you think of it.

As promised, here’s the first-ever Fresh Selects mixtape compilation. No, it’s not really mixed – its just a .zip full of tracks that I’ve been feeling lately, and/or been meaning to post about. I’m gonna be gone for the next couple of days so I wanted to put this up to hold you guys over until I come back. But if all goes well, I should be coming back with a bang.
