This motherfucker Waajeed, man….
He is just NOT letting up this week!!!
After dropping one of his best
(& definitely the most controversial)
edition of his longrunning Bling47 Breaks
video series this Monday,
then his new 12″ single
+ ass-filled music video yesterday morning,
and now, today – Jeedo debuts his Orchestra.
Yes… that’s right… Waajeed now has an orchestra.
Electric Street Orchestra follows the likes of
PPP, Waajeed & The Jazz Katz, Flame Brown
& others (some ghostproduction credits we dare not mention)
in a long lineage of Waajeed aliases/groups -
each w/ their own unique sound & purpose.
ESO, for example, is his new “tech-lo” outfit
where Jeed focuses back on the very foundation of his sound -
dark-as-fuck, minimal Detroit techno;
much like he did on his Triple 5 Soul Mix CD,
the ESO Mix (by no coincidence)
& most famously, on his early career high – “Tron;”
and elevating those influences & past achievements
to a whole new level.
Today, Waajeed debuted full-length streams
of the both the A and B-side title tracks
from his first single as Electric Street Orchestra,
which will also serve as
the debut release on Dirt Tech Reck -
his new label w/ Detroit techno
pioneers, Underground Resistance.
On the A side, we have “Scorpio,”
an acid-tinged bubbler
that weaves a dark tale of the defining
“first hit” of a drug addiction,
& features two of UR’s most well known members,
Mad Mike Banks and UR-043 (aka Marc Floyd).
On the flip, we have “M.F.A. (Master Funk Association),”
a sparkling synth-filled glider of a track,
with employs the keyboard wizardry
of the one, Theo Parrish,
matching Jeedo’s lush arrangements to great effect.
But that’s enough out of me,
you can stream both tracks
for yourself below,
& support the 12″ single
in stores on October 30th.
Performed by Electric Street Orchestra
Produced by Waajeed / Jeedo
Vocals on “Scorpio” by Marc Floyd aka Chaos UR-043
